Brazil is the largest South American Country and the firth largest Country
in the world. It spans 3.3 million square metres or 8.55 million square km,
that’s nearly 35 times the size of the UK. Brazil has a population just shy
of 200 million.
A few facts about Healthcare in Brazil:System Type / Funding: Public government managed system, SUS (Systema Unico de Saude) which serves the majority of the population. Small private sector managed by health insurance funds and private entrepreneurs.

Average life expectancy: 71.99 years (Male: 69.43 Female: 75.73)
Fertility Rate: 2.21
Cardiovascular disease accounts for 32% of total mortality, mainly due to cerebrovascular and coronary artery disease.

Market research in Brazil is becoming more and more popular, with Rio de Janeiro
and Sao Paulo the cities of choice. The availability of research studios remains
somewhat limited. There is a total of 4 ActiveGroup enabled and 5 FocusVision
enable studios so competition for these can be quite fierce. There is another
20 to 30 other research studios across Brazil.
Finally, in 2000 the WHO rated Brazilian healthcare as number 125th in the
world, just behind Pakistan, Micronesia and Bhutan.
